See Austin's Cool House Tour Showcase This Weekend

This weekend marks the 17th annual Austin Cool House Tour featuring 10 homes in the Austin area. Each of these properties features energy efficient construction as well as smart and green technologies. The tour will be available on Sunday, June 2 from 10 am to 6 pm and includes homes in various Austin neighborhoods.

Austin Cool Homes Tour is a collaboration between the Austin Energy Green Building and the Texas Solar Energy Society. The tour showcases properties with attractive design and high energy efficiency while maintaining comfort of the residents. This tour can be a great learning resource for those interested in energy efficiency for residential properties. This nationally recognized home showcase offers ideas for new constructions, remodeling, or buying properties while conserving water and energy, reducing maintenance and boosting personal comfort and aesthetic design. 

Tickets for the tour include multiple options. A guidebook may be purchased for $20 which will include entry for all 10 properties. These guidebooks are currently available at Treehouse located in the Westgate shopping center, as well as Zinger Hardware next to the North Central Market location. Guidebooks will also be available on Sat, June 1st at the Barton Creek Farmer's Market. Guidebooks will not be available for purchases at the homes on the actual tour; however you will be able to view an individual home for $5 cash at the door.
