Holiday Fun for the Whole Family This Week!

There is always fun to be had in the Austin Area, especially during the Holidays! With tons of options, where does one even begin? Christmas is our favorite time of the year, so we wanted to make it easy for you! Each week we will have a new list of fun holiday activities for your family to attend!

1. Zilker Holiday Tree

12/4 | 6 pm - 12 pm

Enjoy local entertainment, food, live music and more at the annual lighting of the Zilker Tree, which stands 155 feet tall and is composed of 39 streamers, each holding 81 multicolored, 25-watt bulbs – totaling 3,309 lights.

November 27 – December 31, 6 pm – 12 midnight, tree on display nightly. REMINDER – on Trail of Lights Nights the area roads will be closed as thousands visit the Trail of Lights. If you are planning to visit the Holiday Tree itself, make sure to plan around those nights.

2. Ice Skating on the Plaza at Whole Foods

A must-do for locals and visitors alike, Ice Skating on the Plaza at our Flagship store (located in Downtown) has become one of Austin’s most anticipated events of the holiday season! The ice rink is open daily from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. beginning Friday, Nov. 24 through Monday, Jan. 15, 2018.* Cost is $10 per person and includes skate rental.

3. Winter Wonderland at Circuit of the Americas

The circuit of The Americas (COTA) has just announced a new holiday tradition and festival with—get this—a million lights, camel rides, and hot air balloon rides! The holidays in Austin just keep getting better and better. Winter Wonderland will run from December 1 – 30, open daily from 6 -10 p.m., and 6 – 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Tickets are on sale now.

4. Pet Photos with Santa

All proceeds benefit the pups at Lizzy’s Animal Hospice, which provides a home environment for companion endearing or terminally ill animals who are or would ultimately end up in a shelter. Bring your kids and their pets — unique pets included and welcome.

5. The Brunch Boat with Buddy The Elf on Lady Bird Lake

December 10th | 12 pm - 2 pm

Why eat on land when you can have brunch on the water!?!

We’ve teamed up with Capital Cruises and Austin Tour Company again to bring you The Brunch Boat!  A brunch-time party cruise on Town Lake (or Lady Bird Lake as it’s now known). Enjoy great music, food, and beverages aboard a fabulous boat with air conditioning, bathrooms, and a gorgeous roof deck

6. Christmas at the Movies - Free Symphony Concert

December 10th | 3 pm - 4:30 pm

Jump-start the sounds of the season with Cinematic Symphony’s performance of some of your favorite holiday music film scores. From Miracle on 34th Street and the Grinch to Edward Scissorhands and even Fargo?this music is full of wonder and magic. Fun trivia and prizes!

This is another FREE concert. Doors open at 2:45.
