Austin Second Best City for Working Women

Personal finance website Nerdwallet recently conducted a study of 522 cities to assess which offered the best environment for working women. Three factors played into the evaluation, which include the average salary for women, income equality and population growth to gauge future job stability and growth. In the end, Austin took second place on the list of Best Cities for Working Women.

According to NerdWallet, Austin has the highest population growth rate of the top 10 cities on the list, along with a low cost of living and a small gender pay gap. The University of Texas and several technology companies are among the city’s biggest employers. Aiding the empowerment of women in Austin’s workforce is The Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Texas.
