Austin Ranked Top in State's Metro Areas for Well Being Index
According to a recent report by Gallup Healthways, Austin leads Texas' metropolitan areas for best overall healthy living in a published Well-Being Index. Categories that were evaluated in the study included physical health, life evaluation, basic access and healthy behavior.
Austin also ranked high on a national level. Information was gathered across all 50 states, and Austin ranked number 34 in overall health nationwide against 189 cities. The capital city placed 18th in the country in the life evaluation category, which measures current life situation of those surveyed, as well as their expectations for the next 5 years.
The team at Cain Realty Group with Keller Williams Realty is not a bit surprised Austin placed so high for well-being on both a state and national level. With access to so many farmers markets and local produce, health conscious restaurants, fitness and outdoors options including local health and fitness programs, as well a great doctors and hospitals, it's no wonder Austin ranked high on the Index.
