Austin Ranked Top City for Young Adults

Austin Ranked Top City for Young AdultsAccording to The Business Journals, Austin is the #1 top city for young adults in the US. The Business Journals ranked 102 metro areas across the country with populations over 500,000, and found Austin to be a land of golden opportunities for young adults in the 20 to early 30's age range looking to establish themselves and their careers in this post-recessionary era.

Factors that lead to Austin's high ranking include the expansive growth the city has experienced in both private-sector jobs as well population categories. The Business Journals analyzed each major market in a 10-part formula including cost of living, solid growth rates, unemployment rates, median rent rates, and education levels.

Other cities that ranked high on the list include San Jose, CA and Washington D.C. Cities that ranked very low on the list included Detroit, Las Vegas and Cape Coral-Ft. Meyers, FL.

Most of the data used in this study was collected from the US Census Bureau, US Bureau of Labor Statistics and the US Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Cain Realty Group with Keller Williams Realty has definitely noticed the growth in Austin as the city is absolutely experiencing a shortage of available houses on the market for the demand of buyers. Also, currently many buyers in the market are young adults in there 20's and early 30's.
