Austin Ranked 7th for Nation's Top in Economic Recovery
Austin has been ranked 7th for economic recovery in a report released by the Brookings Institute. This list includes the top 100 metro areas in the country. The cities were examined on how they have bounced back from their lowest recession point in terms employment, as well as economic production and the price of housing. For employment recovery, Austin was ranked 2nd in the nation rising over 8% in workforce from 2009. The capital city placed 4th in terms of economic production, and ranked 15th for the price of housing. The Austin real estate market is listed as one of the areas strongest economic productions for the past year.
