Austin Ranked #7 on a List of 8 Big Tech Hubs in America

Austin was ranked #7 on a list of eight big tech hubs in America. The growth of job postings for tech positions went up 9.9%. According to a study done by Indeed Hiring Lab, Austin continues to grow and doesn’t look like it’s going to change for a while.

The list of cities are:

San Jose, California

Washington DC, DC-VA-MD-WV

Baltimore, MD

Seattle, WA

Raleigh, NC

San Francisco, CA

Austin, TX

Boston, MA

The share of US tech-job openings in these eight hubs has been consistent for years, rising slightly from 26.5% in 2013 to 27.6% in 2016 and 27.4% in 2017. In other words, there hasn’t been a broad shift of technology jobs away from these hubs toward the rest of the country. Furthermore, the metros in the top eight have been almost unchanged over the past five years.‎

Obviously, the best part of Austin being on this list is the job opportunities. With major companies moving to Austin the unemployment rate will only continue to drop. If you are looking to move to Austin contact Cain Realty Group today!
