Austin Ranked 3rd In Best Performing Cities

Cities manage the country's economic growth to keep competitive in global wealth and promote sustainable development and prosperity.  These cities are the primary locations for businesses to create new jobs where workers can earn higher wages and have their characteristics on investments and policies to hold the best economic outcome.  

For two consecutive years, Austin ranked 3rd in Best Performing Cities for created and sustained jobs. This year, The Milken Institute's Best-Performing Cities index studied 400 US metropolitan statistical areas (MSA). The study resulted in different metrics that emphasize job hiring, wage gains, and high technology growth while incorporating new housing affordability measures and household broadband access.  The high technology sector has a tremendous impact and provides a better foundation for economic success and more resilience to economic shocks.
