U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) professions will grow 10.8% between 2021 - 2031 compared to other occupations. WalletHub compared the 100 largest metro areas in the U.S. across three key dimensions — “Professional Opportunities,” “STEM-Friendliness,” and “Quality of Life.” They evaluated the dimensions using 21 relevant metrics, graded on a 100-point scale.
Austin ranked #2 with a total score of 67.33. Various big tech companies where offices in the Austin area offer employment opportunities, career growth, and pay higher salaries.
