Austin Ranked #1 in Best Places for Black Entrepreneurs

Smart Asset said, “Black Americans are the third-largest racial or ethnic group in the U.S., making up just over 12% of the population”.  This year they analyzed the best places for Black Entrepreneurs, and Austin Ranked #1, the fourth-largest metropolitan area in Texas with an 88.27% increase in Black-Owned businesses in 2018 - 2020.  Austin has the lowest unemployment rate of 6.6 % study-wide.  Smart Asset considered 39 metro areas across three categories and nine metrics on the prevalence of Black-owned businesses, new business success, and income and job security.
