This study was conducted by research website Sperling's BestPlaces. This site is run by author and researcher Bert Sperling, and is often commissioned for research studies ranking us cities. Other Texas cities also ranked high on the list. Houston was the number 1 spot, and Dallas-Ft. Worth came in at second place. This is the second year in a row that Austin has ranked in the top 10 cities on this list.

Other areas of the country that were included on the list were Minneapolis, Oklahoma City, Norfolk, and Salt Lake City. Florida also had three cities make the cut, including Tampa, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale.

Factors that lead to Austin having such a favorable climate to veterans to find employment include relatively low cost of living, median home price, higher household incomes than other cities that made the list, and a stronger economy with lower unemployment rates than other areas of the nation.

Cain Realty Group with Keller Williams Realty is proud of Austin for being named a top city for veterans to find jobs. This is not surprising for Austin to make the list as we have been seeing the city top a lot of "Best Of" lists this past year. The unemployment rate in the Capital City has dropped even lower in the past few months. The strong economy in the area also makes it an ideal place to live and work. If you know any U.S. veterans looking to relocate to the Austin area, we would love to help.
