Austin Makes it to List of Cities Where People are Moving into Fastest

A recently published article by Abodo lists Austin as one of the top metropolitan areas where people are moving into the fastest. The study of the moving trends in the top 10 cities included in the list cited several factors as to why they are moving in to these cities. But it appears that the millennials are one of the most significant factors influencing the trend. It is common knowledge that millennials are a strong driving force in the housing market, and their choice of residence clearly makes a significant impact in moving trends, particularly in housing data.

The Austin-Round Rock area is fourth in the list, with 8.28% of its current population being new residents. Majority of these new residents are millennials moving to the city for its promising career opportunities. However, it is unknown as to how long these millennials intend to stay, as they are also known to be constantly on the move as they follow the most promising career opportunities before settling in one city. Here is the list of top cities where people are moving into fastest:

10. Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford (Florida) -- 6.94%

9. Jacksonville (Florida) -- 7.27%

8. Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro (Oregon-Washington) -- 7.28%

7. Nashville-Davison-Murfreesboro (Franklin, Tennessee) -- 7.51%
