Austin Made it on #3 Spot in Top 20 U.S. Cities with The Largest Share of New Homes for Sale
Some homeowners say that buying new-build housing is more practical than the older homes, it is low-cost maintenance, the convenience of move-in-ready, a home design to fit your style, and fewer renovations.
According to the recent ranking performed by real estate platform Point2, Austin made it to the 3rd spot, tied with San Antonio with a 42% share of new homes for sale that are built-in or after 2012. Data gathered on active listings from Point2, Redfin, Realtor.com, and Zillow.
Other cities in Texas with homes for sale built in the last ten years:
- El Paso on 1st spot with a 51% share
- Forth Worth on 11th place with a 36% share
- Houston on 12th place with a 31% share
- Dallas on the 17th spot with a 24% share
Point2 calls Texas "the poster child for fresh homes for sale." "The Texas cities of El Paso, San Antonio, and Austin are the only large hubs where new homes built post-2012 make up more than 40 percent of the stock for sale," the real estate platform says.
