Austin is in the Top 20 Markets for Creative, Technical and Professional Services

The Independent workforce continues to increase in demand for the services offered. In the past two years since the global Covid-19 pandemic started, independent professionals have been well-equipped to adjust to the situation. According to Fiverr’s report, “There are an estimated 6.3 million independent professionals in the U.S. as of 2021. This workforce is estimated to have earned $247 billion in revenue in 2021, up from $234 billion in 2020. They represent 3.9% of the U.S. labor force, and their earnings comprised 1.1% of total U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) in 2021.”

Austin ranked #15 in Creative Services, with 37% growth in independent professionals and revenues of 56%. These are artists, writers, performers, and video and sound professionals. 

Austin ranked #17 in Technical Services, with 27% growth in independent professionals and revenues of 42%. These professionals provide processing, architecture, design, engineering, IT, and scientific services.

Austin ranked #19 in Professional Services, with 37% growth in independent professionals and revenues of 51%. Accounting/bookkeeping, management, consulting, marketing, and business report professionals.
