Austin is Fastest Growing City in the U.S. -Forbes

A new analysis by Forbes.com lists Austin as the fastest growing U.S. city in 2016, regaining the spot it lost to Houston last year. Aside from the alluring beauty of the cityscape and its natural wonders, Austin is also known for its growing sectors in technology, particularly in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

The annual list of America’s Fastest-Growing Cities was released early this March, giving rank to the top 100 largest metro areas and their surrounding suburbs. The basis for the rankings is a combination of population growth (2015 and 2016), year-over-year-job growth (2015), economic growth rate, unemployment rate, and median annual pay for college-educated workers based in each area.

Here are the cities that made it to Forbes’ top 10 list:

10. Cape Coral, FL

9. Raleigh, NC

8. San Jose, CA

7. Orlando, FL

6. Ogden, UT

5. Salt Lake City, UT

4. Seattle, WA.

3. Dallas, TX

2. San Francisco, CA

1. Austin, TX
