Austin a Top City in U.S. for Jobs
Austin has once again been named a top city for job seekers in the country, according to a new report published by NerdWallet Finance, an independent finance website featuring user-friendly tools and resources for consumers. Austin was ranked in the number one spot on the list, in part due to strength growth in working-age population.

The report was ranked by zeroing in on job availability, growth of the cities, as well as affordability. NerdWallet studied unemployment rates throughout the country, as well as upward trends in populations, and areas' median incomes versus monthly costs of homeowners.
Austin had the highest rate of the working age group in the country. Major employers in the technology industry helped boost the city. Dell and IBM each employee over 6,000 people, let alone the countless other booming tech companies throughout Austin. Also, the city offers a variety of help, resources and networking groups for business and job skill development for free or low cost to new and established businesses and entrepreneurs.
Other cities ranking high on NerdWallet's new report include Washington DC, Denver Colorado, Charlotte and Raleigh North Carolina, Omaha Nebraska, Minneapolis Minnesota, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Two other Texas cities made the cut as well. Ft. Worth placed second on the list, and San Antonio was ranked in the 10th spot.
