This is not a cookie-cutter neighborhood by any means. Many professionals that work downtown enjoy this quiet neighborhood that is just minutes from their office. Travis Heights gets its name from the lay of the land. The streets roll up and down a series od small rises that give some residents great views of downtown while others look out on quiet woodland hollows. This topography and the interesting overall layout brings people to this community. Its proximity to downtown Austin is just one of the neighborhood's main attractions. The hip rejuvenation of South Congress Avenue and development of the SoCo area with its hip cafes and shops, that are within walking distance, have added even more popularity to the Travis Heights community as well as adding to the area's property value.
