Crestview is bordered by Anderson Lane to the north, Justin Lane to the south, North Lamar to the east and Burnet Road to the west. It is located just north of the city's urban core. Crestview's location is ideal for homeowners wanting an older home without the high price of other established neighborhoods.
A quiet friendly neighborhood, Crestview's streets are speckled with locally owned businesses. There are probably more barbershops and churches per capita than anywhere else in the county. The center of the neighborhood is the Crestview IGA. There you will find a small grocery store, a deli, a beauty shop, and an acting studio. The new Crestview Station is on the east side of Crestview and it features a mix of residential and retail, as well as the new light-rail station. The young professional type crowd typically buys homes in Crestview, the type that doesn't mind rolling their sleeves up and making their homes suit their individual tastes. Typical homes in the area range from 1,100 to 1,300 square feet and are usually pier and beam construction. Most Crestview homes have two bedrooms and one bath while some are three bedrooms one bath. The lot sizes are larger than the typical 6500 square feet lot and average at about 9000 square feet.
Brentwood Elementary is just across Justin Lane from Crestview in the Brentwood neighborhood and features a small city pool, ball fields and a playground. Beverly Sheffield Park is nearby and has a much larger public facility with a pool, playgrounds, tennis courts, BBQ areas and a basketball court. You can get a feel for the residents by hanging out at the Crestview Market, where you will find many of the original residents as well as a few new families. Everyone seems to know everyone in Crestview and the residents enjoy an active neighborhood association that hosts several different annual events. Among those events include an ice cream social held in July and the National Night Out event in August. The National Night Out encourages one person on each block to host a get-together on their front lawn the first Tuesday in August, for neighbors to get to know one another.
